The Intel Core i7-7740X processor is designed for motherboards equipped with the LGA 2066 socket and the upgraded Intel X299 chipset.

Cutting-edge technology

The processor offers 4 cores and is part of the new, modern X series. It has been made using a 14nm manufacturing process with the latest state-of-the-art technology. Each core runs at a basic frequency of 4.3GHz with the option of Turbo mode and automatic overclocking up to 4.5GHz. Just like with the previous generation, the memory controller is integrated directly into the chip. It is a four-channel DDR4 memory controller which can now operate at a frequency of up to 2666MHz. Furthermore, the processor has a cache of 8MB.

menšia dilema :D Skylake-X,Kaby Lake-X VS. Coffee Lake z prevažne herného hľadiska, k čomu by ste sa priklonili viac mimo ceny, oplatí sa ísť v dnešnej dobe ěste do 4-jadra : X299 + i7-7740X (Quad-Core HT, no GPU) prípadne i7-7800X (6-Core HT, no GPU) VS. Z370 + Intel Core i5-8600K (6-Core no HT, int.GPU) už dlhší čas som bol rozhodnutý pre X299 a X-processor, ale príchod Z370 a kávy mi zamiešal karty :D

Dobry den, prosim o vysvetlenie: pise sa ze tento procesor podporuje dual channel ram. Znamena to ze ked mam dosku 2066 (kde je 8slotov a podpora 128GB) a chcem dat 64GB ram, tak KIT 4x16GB mi procesor nepodpruje? Mozte mi prosim poradit ktory ram kit kupit? Dakujem!

A) Intel Core i7-7700K = pouziti se socketem 1151 Tento socket jiz tzv. dobiha ? Tzn. ze pro tento socket jiz do budoucna nemohu vymenit CPU za vykonnejsi ? B) Intel Core i7-7740X = pouziti se socketem LGA 2066 a modernizovanou čipovou sadou Intel X299. Tento socket je pokračovatelem socketu 1151 ? Tzn. u zakladni desky s timto socketem mohu menit casem za vykonejsi CPU, napr. i za Intel core i9 ... ? - je tedy procesor i7-7740X vykonnejsi a taktovatelny ? - je cpu 7740X vykonnejsi nez i7 7700k ?
