The Intel SSD Optane 905P uses the new 3D XPoint memory
Intel is completely changing the SSD market as the new Optane 905p gains a clear lead over any other competition. How is it possible? The basis is the use of 3D XPoint revolutionary memory. These have much better behaviour under heavy loads where the baud rate and IOPS do not degrade as with a normal SSD. For a 5-year warranty, the entire SSD can be overwritten about 10 times every day.
Interface U.2 + Adapter to M.2
The Intel SSD Optane 905P is available with 480GB in a physical size of 2.5". The U.2 Cable is a bit unconventional as a method of connection, since it is not common in cheaper baseboards.
SSD with passive cooling
Higher transfer rates can lead to elevated temperatures. Intel has therefore used robust aluminum passives to deliver cooling and it looks great too.
