This six-core Intel processor is a great choice for professional or server workstations, offering superior performance in all aspects. It is part of the new Haswell family, designed for the Intel LGA 2011 socket.
Intel Turbo Boost 2
By changing the clock multiplier, this technology automatically overclocks cores under heavy load or, conversely, turns off unused ones. Each core has its own multiplier, which may result in a situation in which two cores are turned off while the remaining two run on different frequencies.
The processor is fitted with many other features that enhance reliability and increase performance. The latest 64-bit architecture allows the processor to work flawlessly in 64-bit applications while retaining full compatibility with 32-bit applications.
Virtualisation
An indispensable feature of every modern server processor is the support for virtualization technologies. In this case, it is the Intel VT-x, with which you can seamlessly run several operating systems on one machine. It also supports the latest Intel VT-d technology, which adds support for I/O devices in a virtualized environment.
