What's that coming over the hill? Is it an iPhone? Yes, it's a new iPhone. Tim Cook has finally set the iPhone 13 Pro loose, so let's see what it has to shout about. For a start, there's an all-new Super Retina XDR display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Then there's a 20% smaller notch that still manages to incorporate cutting-edge Face ID technology. Apple's A15 Bionic chip is once again the fastest on the market while the 12Mpx camera system benefits from a major overhaul. As we've come to expect from iPhone launches, there are enhancements and new features everywhere you look. The Apple iPhone 13 Pro comes with sensor-shift optical image stabilisation, Night mode on all cameras and a filmmaker's dream that allows you to edit depth-of-field effects in videos even after recording. Support for the popular MagSafe accessories goes without saying.
The new iPhone 13 Pro features a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology that offers an ultra-fine 2532x1170p resolution at 460 pixels per inch. Key benefits include HDR 10 and Dolby Vision support, a higher maximum outdoor brightness of 1000 nits (which increases to 1200 nits in HDR) and a stunning 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. HDR video recording with Dolby Vision is possible at 60fps in 4K resolution.
The magnet system on the back of the iPhone 13 Pro enables super features, including MagSafe wireless charging at speeds of up to 15W.
