This Kingston memory module serves to boost server performance when multitasking or processing demanding tasks. The module is specifically designed for seamless compatibility with select IBM servers. This is an excellent choice if you need to expand your server memory, especially if you require high performance necessary to cope with rising user demands when it comes to data load and program complexity.

ECC technology performs real-time integrity checks of the data stored in memory. This allows it to find and fix single-bit errors and detect errors of two bits per 64-bit word. Some memory controllers can also repair larger errors in conjunction with ECC memory. Most professional motherboards require system memory with ECC support, as coupled with parity control, this solution provides maximum control over transferred data. Parity means that a bit is added to a string of binary code (the so-called parity bit), which is then used as a simple form of error detecting code.

Registered memory modules are equipped with a proprietary controller that controls access to individual memory modules, making things easier for the memory controller on the motherboard or processor. Externally, the memory behaves as a single module—the register chip—which takes care of writing and reading from individual memory cells and gives the controller only the results of these operations. This increases memory access efficiency and processing speed, even when multiple memory modules are used at the same time. Some server motherboards outright require registered memory modules.

Memory modules with the "x4" chip structure are designed for high-end systems and support advanced server technologies, such as multiple-bit error correction, Chipkill, memory scrubbing, or Intel Single Device DataCorrection (SDDC), making them ideal for critical applications and servers.
