The memory modules made by Kingston traditionally serve to increase the performance of your server, which is especially needed when multitasking or performing demanding operations. This specific module has been crafted to ensure seamless compatibility with Lenovo servers. Should you need to expand the memory of your server, it is an exquisite option. In a world which requires high performance faced with the ever-increasing demands of users, Kingston memory modules have your back.
The module's ECC technology checks the integrity of the data stored in memory transparently and in real time. It is able to detect and correct data corruption in a single bit, as well as detect errors in two bits. Errors of greater magnitude can be corrected using certain controllers in conjuction with an ECC module. Most professional motherboards require memory with ECC support. Thanks to parity checking, maximum control of the transferred data is achieved. Auxiliary information (a parity bit) is added to one bit of data, which enables to verify the authenticity of transmitted data.
Registered memories are equipped with a built-in controller acting to manage access to individual memory modules. This in turn facilitates the functioning of motherboard or CPU controllers. Memory outwardly behaves as a single module (a register chip) responsible for writing to and reading of individual memory cells, and only passes the outcome of those operations onto the controller. This increases the efficiency of memory access and processing speed, even when more memory modules are used simultaneously. Some server motherboards require registered memory.
The memory module has a separately addressable area (memory rank) with a bus width of 72 bits (64 bits of data and 8 bits of ECC code). The majority of server chipsets have a limited memory rank or a directly specified memory configuration for each slot, which has to be taken into account when buying, especially with respect to future upgrades. If the maximum memory rank on the motherboard is reached, another module cannot be added, not even when some memory slots remain empty.
Kingston Technology is a US company specializing in the production of peripherals for computer technology, founded in 1987. It was started by John Tu and David Sun, who immigrated from Taiwan. CG Kingston produces almost every type of data storage solution existing - USB flash drives, HDDs and SSDs, SD storage cards, computer RAM, and more. Kingston products are well worth the price, as they are known for incredible performance and durability.
