The Kodak EC35 film camera is designed to capture images on classic 35mm film. This compact purple camera features a fixed-focus lens and a simple point-and-shoot operation, eliminating the need for complex exposure settings. Made from durable ABS material, it weighs exactly 102g without a battery, making it easy to carry in a small pocket or bag. The integrated OVF (optical viewfinder) helps you compose your shot. The camera requires no complex parameter adjustments, focusing instead on the pure process of analogue creation.
A built-in sliding cover protects the optical elements from scratches, physical damage and dust during transport. This integrated protective mechanism also functions as an automatic shutter lock to prevent accidental pressing when closed. This stops you from accidentally exposing film frames when carrying the camera in your pocket or backpack.
The fixed 25mm focal length lens offers a wide angle of view for capturing street scenes and group portraits. Its F10 aperture is complemented by a focusable distance from 1.5m, which precisely defines the sharp focus range of the scene. The optical system consists of two acrylic elements, through which light passes directly onto the film frame. The wide-angle focus helps capture a broader area without needing to be far from the subject.
The integrated flash helps to illuminate dark scenes and interiors in poor lighting conditions. To activate it and ensure it works correctly, you must first manually advance the film to the next frame, which readies the flash. The flash requires one AA alkaline battery, which is not included in the package. This lighting element is helpful when shooting in the shade or during the evening.
The camera works with the classic 135 film format and relies on fully manual control of all its elements. Both advancing the film and rewinding it back into the cassette requires you to manually turn the corresponding wheel after each shot. The mechanical shutter operates with a fixed exposure time of 1/100s. This fixed speed, combined with the constant aperture, makes it easier to estimate the correct exposure when using films with different ISO sensitivities.
