The LaCie Porsche Design drive has a super-fast and modern USB 3.1 Type C interface, but that doesn't mean that is incompatoble with older USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 connectors (adapter included). The biggest advantage of the USB-C connector is that it can also act as a power connector. During backup, you can also charge your USB-C laptop battery at the same time.
