The Lenovo ThinkPad comes from the Secure Hard Drive family. It is a range of hard drives designed to fulfil the highest data security demands when on the road. The drive lets you choose two PIN codes, which you then input using the built-in numeric keypad with metallic buttons. Each PIN code must be 8-16 characters long, with one PIN serving as user password and the second as admin password. All stored data is fully encrypted using the AES 256-bit security encryption algorithm. The encryption has no influence on the data transfer speed when reading or writing the file.
The drive has a capacity of 1 TB and 5400 rpm. File transfer is blisteringly fast thanks to USB 3.0, but it is also backward compatible with USB 2.0. The built-in USB connector is stored in a storage slot on the side of the drive, along with the cable. The packaging includes a USB Y cable for power supply. If you have Windows XP or later, then the hard drive’s operation is completely driverless and does not require any additional installations. A multicolour LED indicator keeps you informed about the current status of the device.
Its attractive black case is pleasant to the touch and effectively protects your data. The drive inside is also equipped with protective features that prevent damage caused by shocks and impact, while its anti-slip pads significantly reduce unwanted vibrations.
Lenovo is the world's largest computer maker, founded in 1984. Its original name was Legend. Later it was renamed to Legend Novo ("New Legend"), abbreviated Lenovo. In 2005 it took over IBM's computer division, which was among the largest computer makers in the world. It is similarly ambitious in the field of mobile phones, where it would like to surpass Apple and Samsung. As far as this goal goes, they acquired Motorola’s mobile division in January 2014 and have been ramping up production since.
The company also produces tablets, monitors, televisions, and storage solutions. Overall, they are known for delivering quality products at reasonable prices.
