Magnat MR-780

The Magnat MR-780 hybrid stereo receiver uses a unique combination of a discrete transistor power amplifier with a high output of 2×100W (4Ω) and an ECC 8 tube preamplifier, which offers a warm and welcoming audiophile sound. The digital-to-analogue signal conversion is handled by a high-quality Wolfson D/A converter that supports a signal of up to 192kHz/24 bit (Hi-Res Audio). In addition to high-quality sound, the MR-780 also offers excellent connectivity with a whole range of inputs (2× optical, 2× coaxial, USB-B) and a reliable Bluetooth 4.0 interface with aptX codec support. The optical input also allows the device to be easily connected to modern televisions. The receiver is also equipped with a built-in MM phono preamplifier and a built-in DAB+/FM tuner with RDS for convenient reception of classic and digital radio stations, including additional text information. The Magnat MR-780 has a robust, all-metal casing with an elegant aluminium front plate, which is fitted with intuitive controls and a clear display with adjustable brightness. All amplifier functions can also be conveniently controlled using the included remote control.

Hybrid Receiver with a Powerful Tube Preamplifier

The Magnat MR-780 stands out with its unusual hybrid design, which uses a discrete transistor section and an amplifier with two ECC 81 tubes. The result is a pleasantly warm, audiophile sound that is becoming increasingly popular among hi-fi fans. The amplifier slightly accentuates the bass range, while respecting its power and richness, so the sound is warm and unhurriedly soft with a touch of velvet and kindness. The enchanting rendering of vocals and mids will then appeal to listeners who prefer musicality over analytical precision. Thanks to its nominal power output of 2×100W (4Ω), the amplifier can effectively provide sound for even larger living spaces.

The Magnat MR-780 Offers Excellent Connectivity

In addition to high-quality sound, the MR-780 also offers very good connectivity with a range of inputs and outputs. The receiver includes 5 digital inputs (2× optical, 2× coaxial, USB-B), which are complemented by six analogue inputs, one of which is for connecting turntables with an MM-type cartridge. High-quality wireless listening is then made possible by the Bluetooth 4.0 interface with support for the Qualcomm aptX codec.
