Enjoy high-quality sound from both your analogue and digital recordings with this premium Marantz amplifier. Its carefully crafted output stage constructed from fully discrete components with innovative feedback and exclusive HDAM-SA3 circuitry provide a high-grade broadband response with the same audio accuracy at every frequency. Do you want raw reproduction with no bells and whistles? The Source Direct function bypasses the balance and tone controls for the shortest signal path directly to your ears.
The amplifier’s versatility is supported by its analogue and digital inputs. It includes both optical and coaxial digital inputs and asynchronous USB 2.0 that you can use to connect to a computer and enjoy truly exquisite audio playback. The CS4398 PM7005 digital converter decodes high-resolution digital audio in up to 24-bit and 192kHz sampling. The device is compatible with PCM and 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz DSD format, which is also used on SACD discs. There several analogue inputs on the back, including the MM for a turntable. The digital block is shielded, but even in analogue mode, digital circuits are turned off to achieve interference-free amplification.
Amplifiers commonly use voltage-based feedback in the power amplifier section. Marantz, however, offers exclusive current feedback that provides excellent fidelity and the lowest possible distortion. The amplifier section is entirely composed of discrete circuits (does not contain integrated amplifiers) and has an extremely fast power supply so that the amplifier is capable of high performance and instant current peaks.
The amplifier includes the latest HDAM-SA3 (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) components, which consist of carefully selected, precisely matched circuit boards instead of conventional integrated circuits. The latest generation of HDAM-SA3 provides an improved 10dB signal-to-noise ratio and ultra-wide bandwidth response (100kHz, -3dB) for crystal-clear detail in high frequencies compared to older HDAMs. The HDAM-SA3 modules are used both in the phono and digital block and in the power amplifier.
