Enjoy the quality of analogue recordings at full speed. The Marantz PM8005 amplifier will satisfy audiophiles by reproducing quality even at higher volumes. The PM8005 has a three-layer bottom plate to eliminate vibrations and a twin-shielded twisted-pair toroidal transformer to provide a lightweight supply for a massive flow of pure, undisturbed power for even the most demanding speakers. It flows through a precisely designed symmetrical amplifier from discrete components with innovative current feedback and exclusive HDAM-SA3 peripheral technology. A unique, exciting and dynamic experience is waiting for you.
The robust power supply is based on a high-frequency toroidal transformer rated at 625 VA which is able to power the amplifier circuits comfortably at maximum volume and have a reserve for short-term peaks. The High Frequency Shot-Diod emits up to 20 Amps per line and can handle a peak current of up to 180 Amps. This provides more than enough capacity to handle virtually any speaker.
The Amplifier features state-of-the-art HDAM-SA3 (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) components, which consist of selected discrete circuit boards, instead of common integrated circuits with noticeable deficiencies. Additionally, the amplifiers commonly use voltage feedback in the Power Amplifier section. Exclusively with Marantz, however, current feedback is used which provides excellent fidelity and the lowest possible distortion even in an extremely wide band.
Enhancing the amplifier is easy as it supports a wide range of analogue inputs. It contains 6 line inputs, you can even connect a gramophone. The PM8005 also features a pre-amplified output and direct input to a power amplifier that allows the PM8005 to be used as a stand-alone power amplifier integrated into a multichannel home cinema system. To adapt the sound to your ears and speakers, the amplifier has separate controls for bass, mid and high frequencies. The elegant remote control has a layout that is tailored to easily control the amplifier, such as the SA8005 disc player or one of the Marantz network players.
