If the Internet connection is lost, the device will let you know with a sound signal. The parent unit is powered by Mains (230V) and Battery. The second unit is powered by net (230) and battery. If your family spends a lot of time travelling, you'll find it useful that both units are battery powered. When the battery starts running low, the device will notify you.
