Disk vyžaduje napájení z adaptéru, připojeného k 220V. Balení adaptér obsahuje, ale v popisu to není uvedeno, takže se někdo může mylně domnívat, že stačí napájení z USB. Ve zdejším popisu jsou totiž zčásti převzaty údaje z popisu jiného produktu: disku Maxtor M3 Portable, což je dosti zavádějící.
