52 Ceramic Projects with GOLEM
Golem is a popular Czech art magazine that has been published for 13 years, offering its readers a new portion of “clay” ideas from Czech and Slovak ceramicists four times a year, with the aim of promoting and preserving the most traditional of Czech crafts in an entertaining way. This playful book, intended primarily for children and art teachers, is a selection of the 52 best ceramic projects, which are clearly divided into 4 thematic sections according to the seasons. All the selected projects focus on modelling techniques, so a potter's wheel is not needed to create them. Ceramic clay processing techniques used: - shaping in moulds - assembling from strips and balls - constructing from slabs - freehand modelling. Ceramic clay decoration techniques used: - stamping - engraved patterns - imprints - rubbing with metal oxides - painting with engobes - glazing. You might be surprised what you can create from a piece of clay with just your own two hands!
