If we want to move forward, we must remain curious
On the threshold of the next technological revolution, the serious consequences of climate change, and in the maelstrom of global megatrends such as population ageing and deglobalisation, it does not matter if anyone can name all the important industries of Honduras. The world no longer stops at the border of our village and it is no longer enough to distinguish between subject and object to understand it. Let's not compete with Google or robots in crawler production and concentrate on those things where we can be most useful. For centuries, humanity has been pushed further by curiosity and new ideas.
The Audiobook Genius Crash Course will guide you through the most important trends of the present and the future. Do not be afraid! Also quantum mechanics, GDP, income gap, ageing population, the workings of computers or infinity can be explained clearly - if you have an education, experience, insight and humor as the author of the book, economist Ľudovít Ódor.
The audiobook is divided into 42 chapters and 9 sections: world megatrends, the workings of the universe, biological world, reason and feeling, people and society, technological revolution, numbers and forms, a knowledgeable citizen and a happy life. The appendix of this audiobook contains many illustrations and graphs to help understand even more complex topics such as fractals and time dilation.
What unites all the chapters is the conviction that an honest scientific approach is still the best way to understand the world around us, that we must remain curious if we want to move forward, and that we don't need to memorize phone books - we need to know a few key ideas and think critically.
