A major scam

When Afghan veteran Matt Kubelsky is paroled from a federal penitentiary, he is surprised to find his ex-girlfriend Kelly Haggerty, whom he hasn't seen in twenty years, waiting for him in the car park.
While Matt was in Afghanistan and then unjustly in prison, Kelly found that although she had studied art, she couldn't make a living as an artist, so she turned her skills to counterfeiting foreign currency – and unwittingly became entangled in international intrigue involving drugs and money laundering. Now she's hoping to get out of trouble with a cleverly planned heist and one last huge score.

The missing ingredient in her plan is someone to watch her back and who can recruit professional criminals who aren't afraid to do any dirty work for a stack of cash. And Matt is happy to be that partner, because he has nothing better to do right now, and he's always had a bigger soft spot for Kelly than he thinks. Plus, it's a great opportunity to settle his own scores from prison…

Pulsating tension, original action scenes, absurdly funny situations and one-liners, and enough plot twists to make the reader's head spin make this book a must-read for fans of adrenaline-fueled detective stories tinged with the black humour of the Coen brothers.
