André Laurie: Lord of the Air
This ten-part sequel to the book by French writer André Laurie is proudly titled The Airbender. In this story, a former collaborator of Jules Verne follows in the footsteps of his famous teacher: The heroes of his story build a heavier-than-air flying machine with the help of a mysterious metal, the ircon. This is named after the giant bird Legs from the Thousand and One Nights, whose eggs are two metres in height (Epiornis is the scientific name). A group of adventurous travellers set off on an adventurous journey in an airplane.
