Buried

Another thriller in the highly acclaimed Sayer Altair series

Senior Special Agent Sayer Altair studies the minds of psychopaths. However, the hunt for one of them and the revelation of internal corruption in high places earned her a gunshot wound in the shoulder and six months in the office. Now, she's finally back in the field, where she was called when an FBI agent fell into a cave full of human bones during a hike in the mountains.

The skeletal remains found in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia are believed to have been there for 20 years. However, an old case suddenly becomes current when the agents discover two fresh corpses among the bones. Sayer must discover the connection between the old bones and the new bodies before the killer chooses his next victim.

But he's one step ahead - he attacks her team and sabotages everyone's efforts.

When Sayer finds herself at an impasse, she receives unwanted help from Subject 037, one of the anonymous psychopaths she is currently studying. He is horrified to discover that this is a man of high standing in Washington who is not about to let a common serial killer threaten his own, terrifying interest in Sayer...
