A unique set of spiritual educational cycles
The beginnings of the development of Christian dogma. The birth of monasticism in Europe. Cyril and Methodius Mission. Jiří Mihola from the Department of History at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno presents the history of the Church from its beginnings until the nineteenth century. Church history in the mirror of time does not avoid such topics as the witch trials or the post-Whitehorse recatholization.
You may already know this unique set of spiritual educational cycles from the broadcasts of Radio Proglas. They were created between 1999 and 2020 and offer a wide range of different topics presented by experts mainly from theology and history. The training cycles can be divided into four basic areas, colour-coded for easier orientation:
Blue Circle: Spirituality and Christian Formation - these themes focus on Christian morality and the living of faith in concrete situations. Programs devoted to catechism and catechesis serve as a basic introduction to Christian practice. The collection is expanded by contributions focusing on the contribution of all seven Catholic sacraments and on moral values.
Orange Circle: Systematic Theology - These topics provide a basic overview of Catholic theology. They bring out the basic truths of the faith and help us to avoid some of the mistakes we may make unknowingly. At the same time, compared to the basic lessons of the catechisms, they expand knowledge in greater depth.
Yellow circle: Church History - these programmes focus on events in the life of the Church from its foundation to the present day. They contextualise individual events in historical context and offer a deeper understanding of the chosen issue.
Green Circle: Other - these are cycles that do not fall directly under the above mentioned thematic sets, but expand the education of the practicing Christian.
