This monograph deals with the issue of comprehensive rehabilitation of elderly people with regard to cognitive deficits caused by the aging process and the development of pathological changes, especially in Alzheimer's disease.
The book analyses the key backgrounds, which include dementia, the ageing process, old age and the personality of the elderly and their current position in society. The authors' team focused on the influence of medical, psychological, sociological, educational and occupational therapy factors on the course of ageing, care and quality of life of people. Emphasis is placed on the development of approaches to support and develop cognitive functions of the elderly and the use of alternative elements in therapy and rehabilitation. The text is supplemented by the results of several research studies in which the authors participated. The research presented here highlights the relevance and importance of the topic and allows us to see the interdisciplinary practice focused on cognitive rehabilitation of geriatric clients.
The publication is didactically processed so that it can be used not only by the professional public, i.e. psychology, social workers, andragogy, therapist, doctors, geriatricians, etc., but it also served students in helping professions and senior education.
