Confessions of Evil: Family Matters

They bring them in alive. They take them out dead.

But first, they have to entrust me with their confession, and this time, they’re all about family.

My name is Jack Steen. That name shouldn't mean anything to you. Unless you're about to die. Then I become your guardian angel. I work as a night nurse in an institution for the criminally insane.

My name is the only real name you will find in this book. I won't tell you which hospital I work in. I won't reveal the names of the dying. But I won't lie to you. What you're about to read is exactly what they told me.

If you've got your wits about you and are mad enough to read between the lines, you'll figure out who's telling this story. Maybe they're just trying to mess with my head and play one last game with me. And maybe they'll mess with your head too.

In this book, you'll find four deathbed confessions related to family matters. Patient 424 is a father who wanted nothing more than to protect his little daughter. Patient 1001 is a pig farmer who should never have had children. Patient 523 will try to make you believe he's the brother of a mafia boss. And Patient 983 is convinced she was actually the mother of the year.
