Dignity in medicine

The eleventh book in the series of publications of the Czech Medical Chamber edited by prof. Radek Ptáček and doc. Petr Bartůnek, which deal with ethical and psychological aspects of contemporary medicine. The publications are loosely linked to the annual conferences on the same topics.

This book focuses on the concept of dignity from the perspective of various medical and non-medical specialties. A total of 43 psychologists contributed to the writing of 38 chapters, theologians, of medical ethicists, lawyers and representatives of selected medical disciplines, such as psychiatry, oncology, ophthalmology, obstetrics and neonatology, neurology, emergency medicine, practical and preventive medicine or palliative medicine. The chapters are divided into three areas, namely theoretical topics introducing the problem, clinical topics and special topics.

The book is suitable not only for physicians and medics, but also for professionals from related fields and lay people interested in the issue of dignity in medicine.

The publications have already been awarded several times by the professional public.
