Drahomíra Měsková: The Raven and the Sun
The raven hunter Raven wandered across the tundra to the iceberg. A snow maiden lives in it. It is said that whoever sees it will turn into a stone of ice. He is said to burn all living things with his chilling gaze. The Sun King, brother of the Snow Maiden, spread this rumour around the world. Out of anger, he drove his sister to a snow mountain, which the sun's rays avoided. Raven is a fearless man, discovers a snow maiden, finds her beautiful and not at all icy. He falls in love with her and would like to take her to his jaranga. But when it does, the tundra is covered in perpetual snow and ice - the sun starts avoiding it from then on. And the Sun King is adamant, insisting on his decision.
