Eagle's prophecy
The sixth volume of Simon Scarrow's historical novel series
Centurions Macro and Cato are stuck in Rome. Both are awaiting the results of an investigation into the death of another officer they witnessed, and their fate is uncertain. But it's not just about their safety. The pirates are given three scrolls on which the Emperor's life and the future of Rome depend. Macro and Cato will have to find these scrolls, and therefore the pirates, as soon as possible. Secretary Narcissus knows that these two centurions are the best for such a task, so he makes them an offer that cannot be refused.
Simon Scarrow
He was born in Nigeria but travelled with his parents to many foreign countries before landing in Britain. He studied history there and went on to teach at City College Norwich. He specialised in Roman history and enjoyed organising tours for his students to various Roman monuments and museums. Eventually he decided to write the kind of books he would like to read himself. And so a series of novels were written during the Roman invasion of Britain. He eventually gave up his teaching career and now makes his living as a full-time writer.
