There's something sinister behind a suspicious case of fatal overdose.

San Francisco was to be a new beginning for Jessie – an opportunity to shed the burden of a bitter past in Los Angeles. The reality, however, looks different: she's overworked, underpaid and working in a shabby autopsy room. Moreover, the only housing she has found is in a cramped carriage of a disused cable car, converted into a dwelling in a city perpetually drowned in fog. And when the autopsy of a woman who apparently died of a drug overdose gradually reveals that the extremely high dose of heroin in her blood was meant to cover up a murder, it's the start of another nightmare for her.

When she attempts to look into the case more thoroughly, she is met with the displeasure of her supervisor and senses from his reaction that he wants the matter to be closed quickly. But she's determined to get to the truth, and after more dead bodies land on her autopsy table that might be connected to the case, there's no turning back.

Defying well-meaning advice from colleagues and veiled threats from above, she keeps unraveling her case and the clues, to her surprise, lead her where she would least expect them – into their own ranks. as well as into the uncharted waters of virtual currency and new tech companies that are springing up like mushrooms in fast-changing San Francisco.

Autopsy means literally „ with your own eyes“ and Jessie Tesko isn't gonna stop until she sees the truth with her own eyes – even at the risk of ending up on the autopsy table herself.
