Five girls on the neck

A brilliantly written narrative about teenage girls' relationships, affecting the moral climate of society as a whole Natasha, Georgina, Jana, Zdena and Libuše - five friends from a small town, where a new guy moves in for a while, and because he lives in a castle, they start calling him Prince. The narrative is an inner confession of Natasha, which she very much wishes, to get her friends to accept her as the leader of the five, even though he suspects that girls, whose approval he craves, are shallow and selfish. A sensitive and intelligent schoolgirl has the disadvantage of being the daughter of an important official. She tries to buy the favour of her classmates with various gifts and favours, but they still take the first opportunity to betray her trust and mock her first tender love. Only a seemingly childish story is characterized by a deep knowledge of human nature, in which future character flaws are already hidden from childhood. Maja Štípková reads Natasha's inner voice and Karolína Půčková reads what the girl actually says aloud to the Prince, her parents, teachers and friends. The story, published many times in books, was also made into a film by Evald Šorm in 1967, the main character Natasha was played by Andrea Čunderlíková.
