Hilma's life revolves primarily around her job at a Stockholm PR agency. But the constant stream of demands from clients and superiors is wearing her down, and her work is starting to feel meaningless. One day, she decides she wants a change. She spontaneously resigns and, after spotting a job advert in a magazine for a snow-covered mountain café, she takes it on a whim. She never wanted to move up north, but for some strange reason, she's drawn to the brightly lit gazebo in the winter landscape. Upon arrival, she discovers the café is also a chocolate praline factory, the winter is harsher than she expected, the main mode of transport in the area is a sleigh, and nothing is quite as she imagined. But perhaps this stay will be the beginning of something new?
Snuggle up in a warm blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy this moving story about friendship and love, about belonging and the meaning of life.
A feel-good novel containing all the favourite ingredients, plus readable language and captivating descriptions of both the people and the beautiful setting.
