Getting started with the computer

This is the 5th edition of a successful title for anyone who has never worked with a computer or has little experience with it. It is aimed at users who will use a computer in the home or in a small business, but it can also be used to prepare students for computer basics courses in primary or secondary schools. The text of the book is based on the previous 4th edition, but it is fully focused on the Windows 7 operating system and all its innovations, which mainly concern a different concept of the taskbar, different formatting of the desktop and different ways of basic settings. The book also covers further advances in computer technology and more attention than in previous editions is paid to notebooks. A larger scope is also devoted to multimedia uses of the computer, particularly in the areas of digital photography, video, and music and DVD playback.
