Gomorrah

Use everything as a means and yourself as an end

The now iconic account of an Italian writer and journalist who, as a twenty-seven-year-old reporter, bravely penetrated the ruthless world of the contemporary Neapolitan mafia. The insightful and often shocking testimony about the workings of the camorra and the functioning of organized crime in general also speaks of the unprecedented personal commitment and bravery of the author, who, as part of his investigative research, was hired as a worker in an illegal Chinese textile workshop, a construction worker or a waiter, and gradually gathered an astonishing amount of knowledge about the activities of mafia circles in the fields of industry, construction and drug trafficking. The gripping narrative features vivid portraits of the individual camorrists and vivid details of their crimes, which in their scope and brutality transcend the normal boundaries of human imagination.

The successful first novel by the world-famous author, who has been forced to live under police protection since its publication, became the basis for an award-winning film and a series of the same name.
