Havířovina
A writer searches for the past of a mysterious house in her native village. What will he discover in his search?
Havířovina is an unsightly and neglected house in a small village. It is said to attract bad things - people die here or bring misfortune to others. And who knows, maybe there are even ghosts here... One seemingly insignificant remark by her mother about the smoke rising again from the chimney of Havířoviny sparks the novel's heroine's interest in exploring the house more closely. He follows the history of a mysterious and regularly abandoned dwelling and through interviews with the villagers he tries to find out if something supernatural is really happening in this place or if it is all just a strange coincidence and bad luck.
She is writing her novel about all this, which she hopes will bring her back to normal life and bring her the success she desires after a bitter stage in her life and a rather unsuccessful literary career. On this adventurous journey into the past, he encounters his old fears - and discovers new ones. What does returning to her native village and wanting to write a novel about a haunted house really bring her?
