HAZARDS

These humorous stories, following in the footsteps of the greatest Czech satirist, Jaroslav Hašek, fill the gap in our “culture of laughter” created by the demise of very popular satirical magazines. The drawings by the popular illustrator Petr Urban perfectly correspond with the provocatively humorous texts, which are characterised by their sharp and quick punchlines.

The short stories view the present day with the same merciless yet humorous perspective that the creator of Švejk used to expose the foolishness and absurdity of his time. In doing so, they teeter on the edge of so-called correctness, which often prevents us from calling things by their real names.
And yet the truth is often and surprisingly so simple.
