Henry Fielding: Tom Jones

The famous novel Tom Jones by the 18th-century English novelist, playwright and thinker Henry Fielding has been translated by František Pavlíček for Czech Radio into a twelve-part series. In a series of episodes, the author follows the fate of the foundling from birth to adulthood, the history of his love for the beautiful Sophie Western, the comic and serious obstacles that lie in her way, and the happy ending. Be entertained by the humour, irony and knowledge with which Fielding was able to portray not only the life, manners and social face of the England of his time, but also the general and all-encompassing human characters.
