Bergman's daughter Vanja moved out of Stockholm and found a temporary job as a criminalist in Uppsala, where she is currently investigating a rape series. The perpetrator attacks women from behind - injects them with an anesthetic and puts a jute bag on their heads.
When one of the victims dies, the State Murder Investigation Commission is invited to the case - and shortly thereafter Sebastian Bergman. The shattered team must leave personal problems and disagreements aside and try to stop the brutal rapist.
