Hours

Audiobook version of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Hours

The world-famous novel is a literary homage to the writer Virginia Woolf, describing one ordinary day of three female characters (Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway, and Mrs. Brown), much like Virginia Woolf describes a single day of Mrs. Dalloway in Mrs. Dalloway. The originally intended title of Mrs. Dalloway was, after all, "The Clock". The fates of the characters take place in different time planes, yet the storylines intersect slightly at the end of the book.

In 1999, the novel won the PULITZER PRIZE and the PEN/Faulkner Award. Miroslav Jindra received the Creative Award from the Association of Translators for the Czech translation of this novel in 2002.

The Hours also became famous in film form starring Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman, who won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her performance.

Audiostory dedicates this audiobook to translator Miroslav Jindra in memoriam.
