Hrútvangr

Long ago, in the magical breath of a dragon, the god Varandur forged the legendary sword Hrútvang and gave it to the first Dragon Lord, Ela-Sidrah. Since those tumultuous times, Hrútvang has been passed down from generation to generation in the line of the dragon rulers. A single scratch from this sword is fatal to both Dragon Lords and dragons alike, which is why they guard it with their lives – and why all who wish to defeat them seek to possess Hrútvang. Adam Andres is the pseudonym used by Veronika Válková (1970) for her fiction. Her literary work mainly includes an epic novel cycle written in the tradition of classic fantasy. The now-cult classic Vetemaa is set in the fictional land of Éllad, as are Hrútvang and, more recently, The Saga of Halldor of Mortaluna, The Knights of Princess Rhonwen, and The Sagas of Wann, Son of Orlyg.
