A humorous and self-ironic story of Anna, who sets out for a new life in Prague. The book is a loose sequel to the popular title Dry Cloth at the Bottom of the Sea.
Anna - wearing her grandmother's coat, sleeping in a sleeping bag in a basement apartment, whose view from the window offers nothing more than the ankles of passers-by and the butts of dogs. In her suitcase are sweaters against the November cold, letter paper and rolled up cutlery in a dish towel, just like when she was a child and went camping with her parents. She came from her native village to the capital to find out if she was still running away from the past or already fulfilling her own dreams.
He buys a map of Prague, sets out to explore the capital and find a job. Bořek gets in her way, Nadia and Vlasta, but there's also someone from her past, it's not clear who, if he goes with her, next to her, or get out of the way completely. However, a strange lady from the tram has a major influence on the direction of her life, who, without her having the slightest idea, will influence her life forever. The short chapters move the plot along quickly, full of ordinary stories with an extraordinary amount of self-irony and humour.
The book When It's Not There, Don't Look for It is a loose continuation of the author's first book Dry Rag on the Bottom of the Sea, which was positively evaluated not only by readers but also by critics.
