The main character is Evie Gallagher, who has recently been widowed and moved into a retirement home. But he certainly doesn't feel like dying - quite the opposite! So one morning he decides to leave home and embarks on an adventurous journey across Europe in a camper van.

However, not everyone thinks that a big adventure is appropriate for a woman her age. Least of all Evie's son Brendan and his wife Maura, who are trying to track her down and bring her back home based on vague text messages and clues.

When they all finally reunite, there's no shortage of surprises - Brendan may have resigned himself to a full life and love, but Evie clearly hasn't.
