This publication examines inclusion in education from a number of perspectives: It is viewed from the philosophical, general didactic, special pedagogical and historical perspectives. The main emphasis is on the uniqueness of the teacher's role in educational practice.
The authors present the results of an extensive empirical study focused on the level of didactic competences of teachers and their influence on the quality of the educational process in Czech schools. Based on scientific research, they show that the acquisition of these didactic competences is a necessary condition for the success of collaborative learning and, in fact, for the success of any educational process. The authors refute the fears of the general public and some professionals about the inclusive approach in education and prove that educated and competent teachers can ensure the all-round effectiveness of collaborative education and its benefits for all participants.
The book is intended for anyone interested in a serious discussion on the application of inclusive approaches in our education system. Various ideological positions are suppressed in the book in favour of research results and the possibilities of their interpretation. We believe that the publication will be an inspiration for professionals in the field of social pedagogy, special education, but also sociology, anthropology and other social science disciplines. It is also intended for those interested in the impact of the educational policy of the Czech Republic on the current educational reality and the perspectives of its further development.
