Jana Knitlová: Who loves a good book

Klára Jerneková, Jaroslav Kepka, Bedřich Prokoš and Čestmír Řanda in a slightly sentimental story with a suitably educational message. High school student Pavla is about to graduate and reading is not one of her biggest hobbies. She's only interested in books as a way to improve her meager allowance. Together with his enterprising classmate Mejkup, he sells rare older books to antique shops, which Mejkup had previously "borrowed" without permission from his father's library or on visits to family friends. And because it's not good to try your luck in one place more than once, Pavla is also given the task of finding someone in her neighbourhood with a good library. One of the first radio plays by the future successful screenwriter Jana Knitlová was given to the director Jiří Horčiček, who lived up to his excellent reputation in this production. He cast Klára Jerneková, Jaroslav Kepka, Bedřich Prokoš and Čestmír Řanda in the main roles.
