Jaroslav Juhan - Life without brakes

Jaroslav Juhan (1921) is one of the most successful Czechoslovak car racers in the entire history of our motorsport, he became a world-runner and an extraordinary personality in the automotive field. He associated his name with Porsche and Lotus, among others, and his close friends included five-time F 1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio, Louis Chiron and many other notables. It was Juhan who, in 1953, took the Porsche brand to what was then the longest and most difficult car race - the Carrera Panamericana. It is also thanks to him that the brand's sharpest sports cars are adorned with the name of this hellish race. In his story he also recalls his brother František Juhan (1914-1992), our most important pre-war motorcycle racer. Both decided to leave the republic independently after the communist coup. This is also why virtually no mention of either of them appeared for forty years until 1989. The book tries to remedy this at least a little.
