Judge Ti Cases: Death in the Willow Quarter
Audiobook Death in the Willow Quarter, by author Frédéric Lenormand, read by Saša Rašilov.
THE SINFUL LIFE OF A COURTESAN
By a willow-lined river lies the entertainment centre, where the inhabitants of the town of Puyang go to be entertained by the refined arts of the courtesans, and where some spend the night in their loving embrace. One day, however, the quarter awakens to horrified chaos when the manager of the most sought-after pavilion is found strangled over a half-eaten bowl of noodles. The local sub-prefect, Judge Ti, is not swayed by the easy conclusions of the angry populace and subjects the case to careful scrutiny. He even involves his three wise wives in the hunt for the killer, who are troubled by the sight of their husband escaping ever more frequently to this quarter of immodest fun and easy women. Will he find the real killer on the very long list of suspects?
