"Later I was given the monumental task of working 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea into five one-hour sequels. That's when I fully realized that practically nothing happens in the novel. So I based it on the conflict between Captain Nemo, the creator of the submarine Nautilus, and Count d'Artigas, the main wretch from The Invention of Doom. I made sure that the resolution of the sound environment was very high: Nemo is in the submarine, while d'Artigas is on the cruiser. The director Horčička expressed this concept perfectly in sound and really, to this day, I am still happy with how well it turned out.
