Kingdom

Jo Nesbo surprises this time and once again proves his mastery.

The hero of his latest novel is not the phenomenal investigator Harry Hole, but Roy Opgard, a mechanic who lives on the family farm deep in the Norwegian mountains. His younger brother Carl returns home from America after years away with a plan to build a luxury hotel to breathe life back into the declining area. But Roy's loyalty to his family is tested when he discovers that greed and betrayal lie behind Carl's grand plans.

Shocking secrets emerge from the past, and suddenly not only previous certainties and peace of mind are at stake, but also human lives. An idyll in the middle of nature turns into a dark place and Roy must decide what he is willing to sacrifice for his brother and the love of his wife Shannon.
