Kites over Gdansk
A short story by František Kotleta from the anthology Společenstvo Pevnosti
František Kotleta's fantasy romp presents an original world inspired by the realities of the First World War. Hobbit General Beck's special squad, with the help of the orcs, Lithuanian witches, Polish soldiers and hobbit inventors, brothers Clement and Laurin, embarks on a warship to German elf-occupied Danzig on a mission, that must not fail. The original novel was published in Pevnost magazine and subsequently in a selection of the best of Pevnost.
František Kotleta
My own name is Leoš Kyša. A native of Bruntál, a writer, Mowgli from Jeseník and a butcher, but mainly one of the most successful authors not only of fantasy, but of Czech literature in general. Author of the Brotherhood of Blood trilogy, of the Wolves novels, Hunters, Too long swingers party, Big problems in Little Vietnam, dilogie Perun's Blood and tetralogy Fall, Half-life, Shock Wave and Chain Reaction. His titles are smashing the bestseller lists with a mix of action, slapstick, violence, thrilling plot and sex. You won't think here, you'll have fun here. Due to the great demand, all his books are regularly reprinted and many of them can be purchased in audio form.
