Les Miserables II

The book is a continuation of the story of the reformed convict Jean Valjean. He continues to devote himself to charity work, along with Cosetta, who has grown into a beautiful young woman over time. However, Valjean is still being pursued by Inspector Javert. The fates of both Cosette and Valjean intersect in this work with the story of law student Marie Pontmercy. The great love between him and Cosette will be complicated by a series of misunderstandings, the thickening atmosphere in Paris, and also the fighting on the barricades. With his criticism of social injustice and his belief that one can overcome social injustice through love and compassion, Victor Hugo appealed to generations of readers and continues to inspire us today.

The monumental and immortal novel Les Misérables is considered one of the pivotal literary works of the 19th century and has been adapted into numerous films and musicals.
