Let's go!
The book Let's Get Moving! offers 50 reliable and fun projects on the theme of motion. You will create great self-propelled models mainly from waste materials such as PET bottles and empty boxes. You will progress from the simplest models to more demanding creations, such as a turbine model or an electric car. The publication is divided into seven chapters based on the focus of the individual projects: 1. Electricity and magnetism, 2. Classic engines, 3. Turbines, 4. Fast machines, 5. The power of air, 6. Technical treats, 7. Perpetual motion. In addition to the building instructions, each chapter also includes interesting technical facts and scientific information. For example, you will learn: * how different types of engines work * the advantages and limitations of turbines * which are the fastest vehicles in the world * how it's possible to ride on a single wheel * how to hover on a cushion of air * how to build a model of a perpetual motion machine. Radek Chajda worked as a physics and maths teacher for eight years, and thanks to this experience, he knows how to capture children's interest and explain physical phenomena in a clear and entertaining way. Our publishing house has also released his other books, such as: Physics in the Yard, Playful Maths, Know Your Senses, Science Through Play, Sensational Explosive Experiments, The Adventure of Aeronautics, The Big Book for Young Technicians, and more. He also works as a translator and visits schools with his “Playful Science” programme.
