Lions in the limelight

The sequel to the gripping saga of the true fate of a prominent Sicilian family

The Flori, poor immigrants from Calabria, conquered Palermo. The despised apathetic family has become the most important Sicilian family, controlling trade, transport and the most important industries, joining aristocratic circles and entering politics... The road to success is thorny, but it is even harder to stay on top.

The sequel to the gripping saga of the real-life fate of a prominent Sicilian family focuses on Ignazio Florio, who takes over the family empire after the death of its founder, his father Vincenzo. Ignazio's story is set against the backdrop of the turbulent events, social unrest and political conflicts of the young Italian kingdom in the 1870s and 1880s. It is the story of a victor and a "conqueror", but also of unhappy love and the eternal dilemma of those who are forced to make decisions with their heads instead of their hearts, and must put the interests of the greater good before their own happiness.
