Lord of the Air
Jules Verne's wish has come true.
Vern's unrealised intention to write a novel in which characters from all his novels would meet on five continents was taken up by Ondřej Neff and he wrote the trilogy The Secret of the Five Continents. In the first episode of Lord of the Air, sleuths Maukler and Fix are on the trail of Virgil Adrian, who is plotting a diabolical plot.
At the end of his life, Jules Verne revealed his intention to write a novel in which characters from all his novels would meet on five continents. He was not allowed to carry it out. However, the idea was taken up by his lifelong admirer Ondřej Neff, who faithfully, with a Verne-like vision of the world and at a brisk pace, had previously retold ten of his novels. The first part of the Mystery of the Five Continents trilogy, entitled Lord of the Air, raises three questions: Is this Verne authentic, or retold, or Neffian? All the answers are correct, because the spirit of Verne appears in every sentence, in every thought. So let's go on the trail of the world's richest man Virgil Adrian, who is plotting a diabolical plot with English secret agent Maukler and Scotland Yard's top detective Inspector Fix. The heir to the Steel City poses as a savior, but he can't fool the searchers. He's being chased all over Europe and America
