Man on the trail

A world you won't like.

Out of the dark clouds that had been gathering over humanity for years, it finally struck. Most of the world's population has succumbed to the killer virus. An extraordinarily powerful series of electro-magnetic pulses arrived in agony to a civilization in turmoil. Most of the electronics were irreparably destroyed. The state structures, the police forces, the armies, they all fell apart. The world as we knew it has ceased to exist.

Twenty-two years after these events, a lonely man sets off on a journey through the land of the lawless to gift his friend, who lives at the foot of the Blaník Mountain, with seeds of old varieties of Kokořín plum trees and uncultivated carrots. But something keeps getting in the way. Something that needs to be pushed, cut, slashed or the entire magazine shot.

A gritty science fiction novel from the grim twilight of humanity, when there are never enough knives and when man's best friend is no longer a dog, but a reliable, well-oiled gun. And because guns are dangerous toys, sometimes a drop of blood will come out.

You won't like this vision of the near future.

And if you do, you're weird.

Engelbert Prim

Engelbert Prim

He was born in 1967 in Prague as a boy and has remained so ever since. Apart from the occasional fights and peripeteia with girls, he still has no serious problems. He had been writing in the drawer since he was a child, even though it was still a suitcase with a teddy bear. He wrote by hand, but in block letters. They even let him write like that at school, so when he has to write something today, he has the handwriting of a first grader. His first literary work was probably a letter to a comrade from a friendly school, in which he described what he did during the holidays. He sucked everything, every last letter, out of his fingertips. It was teeming with gangsters, troubled schoolmates, dank basements and secret underground passages. He has a warm relationship with the underground to this day, despite the fact that it can be cold. He was popular in the team because of his friendly nature. After receiving a Mercedes typewriter from his grandfather, he learned to type with two fingers. In order for the letters to print sufficiently visible letters on the paper through the dry ink ribbon, the keys had to be hit hard. That's what he did. And because habit is an iron shirt, it still does it on the far finer keyboards of computers and laptops. It should also be mentioned that he added a third finger, the middle finger of his right hand, to his two index fingers. He still writes like that today. When he joined the Basic Military Service, his topics quite naturally turned to what he would have done if he had not joined the Basic Military Service. The friends to whom he lent his manuscripts, however, did not understand their depth and mission and considered them purely erotic literature. He would then find his texts in spots, tucked behind the toilet tanks and under equally speckled mattresses. He was popular in the team because of his friendly nature. After the war, still having the desire to write, he continued his literary attempts from time to time, but without a proper subject, always just in a drawer. The first rough outlines of the intrepid hero nicknamed God's Turbine Mill and the as yet unclear lines of his unusual story began to emerge on the inside of Elgelbert's skull one drenched night, when thunder rumbled, lightning crossed the sky one after another, and it was not hard to imagine that the apocalypse was coming. He is still popular in the team because of his friendly nature.
